Where farmers can be heard

At AgriHQ our mission is to facilitate better farming conversations. We think this is important because the farming sector is under pressure and we believe that positive progress can be best made by encouraging New Zealand’s talented farmers to speak up and help make a difference.

With this in mind, we have created The Farmer’s Voice for farmers to share their ideas, feelings, and to be heard by those in the industry who can effect change.

What is involved with joining?

To make The Farmer’s Voice a reality we are recruiting as many farmers to join in as possible so that any farmer can contribute. We will be developing The Farmer’s Voice over time with new features and a series of projects that farmers can contribute to. These will vary from short, simple polls or discussion questions to more involved projects that will take more time and effort.

What does it cost?

Membership in The Farmer’s Voice is FREE. You can choose to unsubscribe and not participate at any time.

What do I get out of it?

The main reason for taking part is to share your ideas as a farmer to benefit the whole, and to get involved with an interesting range of projects over time. Depending on the type of project and the amount of effort involved:

  • Most projects will simply ask to hear your perspective

  • Some projects will include a draw where you could win a prize

  • For some projects that require more involvement you will be paid for your time.

What about privacy of data?

We will ensure that each contributor’s privacy is maintained by:

  • Making each participant anonymous in all reporting of things

  • Making all contribution to all projects strictly on a volunteered opt-in basis

  • All access to The Farmer’s Voice participants will be managed by the AgriHQ team only.

What happens to all the responses?

Some of the findings and results from The Farmer’s Voice projects will be shared directly with members, while some results will be published through Farmers Weekly and other AgriHQ publications. They will also be shared, where appropriate, with stakeholder groups who have a role in the industry. We want the thoughts of farmers to get through to those who can effect change.

How do I join?

If you would like to join The Farmer’s Voice and contribute to having your say, please click on the link below. You will be asked a few questions about you and your farming situation. This helps us know what sort of subjects and projects you might be interested in.

Farmers are a passionate bunch. Passion is good, but we ask you to keep your contributions constructive and polite.
